it's always "I love you to the moon and back" and never "I love you through your bad days and beyond"
Fact
i need a hug that will break my bones and put my pieces back together
please? Anyone..
In 2015, a marriage counselor asked me a question about my then spouse. (I was feeling incredibly unseen and unappreciated.) "What does she do for you?"
"Well, she takes care of our son, she keeps the house in order, she cooks dinner, she does the grocery shopping."
He replied, "No, those are just adult responsibilities. Those are things that need to be done. What does she do FOR YOU?" The answer was "nothing." She did nothing FOR me...and in fairness, I was doing nothing FOR her either.
That has stuck in my mind since that day. It seems like such a simple question and a simple thing to consider/do but it's really not.
What are you doing FOR your person? What are they doing FOR you?
Just something to think about.
